Daycare

How long is a full day of daycare?
A full day is anything over 4 hours time.

Is there a minimum daycare attendance requirement?
Peanut's Place does not have a minimum requirement; however, we do recommend that you come at least once per week for the sake of your dog. Attending daycare is a social skill which the dogs need to practice. Dogs who attend only occasionally usually don't enjoy daycare as much and may find it stressful.

What happens if I book a day and don't show up?
If you schedule a day and don't show up you will be charged for the same.

What happens if I am late to pick up my dog?
Late fees are as follows:
Monday-Friday: $10 at 6:31pm and again at 6:46pm
Saturday-Sunday: $10 at 6:01pm and again at 6:16pm

If you have not picked up your dog by 7:00pm M-F or 6:30pm Sa-Su, your dog will be boarded at Peanut's Place overnight and you will be responsible for boarding costs as well as the $20 in late fees.

Are there specific drop off and pick up times?
We do not have specific drop off and pick up times for FULL days. However, if you are going to do a HALF day, you must either pick morning (in which case your dog must be picked up by 12:30pm) or afternoon (in which case your dog can not be dropped off until 12:30pm). Please remember, half days are up to 4 hours time.

What are the holiday hours?
We are open all holidays from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Nap TimeAre there nap times during the day?
There are not designated nap times because most dogs will take a break on their own. However, if you would like your dog to be separated for any part of the day, please let us know and we will try to accommodate you.

Should I bring anything besides my dog?
We recommend that you do not bring any toys or rawhides with your dog as they may cause some possessiveness problems & because many toys will most likely not make it through the day. If your dog has special treats due to a medical reason, you may bring them. You should bring your dog in/out on a leash.

Does my dog need a flea & tick preventative?
We do require a topical flea & tick preventative from May 1st - October 31st and suggest either Frontline or Advantage. Flea collars do not count and are not allowed at Peanut's Place.

There is a lot of barking when I drop off my dog. Is it always like this?
Absolutely not! The dogs always get excited when a new dog arrives and/or when visitors stop by. We take your dog outside immediately and may wait a little while before putting them in a play area; this gives the other dogs a chance to calm down before they greet the new dog. Within just a couple of minutes, the dogs settle down and everything is back to normal.

Will Peanut's Place feed my dog during the day?
Feeding dogs in this type of setting is not recommended because of possible aggression and health issues. In addition, dogs are generally not interested in eating as they are more interested in playing with all of their friends! However, in the case of very young puppies (under 5 months of age) and/or medical reasons, we would be happy to feed your dog in a separate area as needed.

What vaccinations are required?
We require rabies, distemper combo & bordetella. We also require a flea & tick preventative during the appropriate season.

Will my dog get sick by being around so many other dogs?
We try to stay on top of any possible illness and take necessary precautions. However, just like with kids at school or daycare, viruses may be passed between dogs. If your dog comes down with anything contagious, he/she must stay home until your vet says it's okay to return.``````

Dogs Playing Will my dog get hurt at Peanut's Place?
The safety of the dogs is always our first priority. In our initial interview, we make every attempt to weed out aggressive behavior. We closely monitor dogs and keep play on a fun, friendly basis so that it doesn't become too wild or confrontational. However, dogs use their mouths & paws to play; therefore, little scratches & nicks are not uncommon. If anything serious should happen, we will transport the dog to a nearby veterinarian if needed and notify you immediately.

If I purchase a full day package may it be used toward boarding?
Full day packages may only be used toward weekday or weekend full day daycare. They may not be used for half days or boarding. However, if you do purchase a package and you board with us we will extend the expiration date for your package.

Boarding

Are there specific drop-off & pick-up times?
Yes. Because we want your dog to be able to expend some energy and get acclimated before bedtime, you must drop him/her off no later than 3pm. If you pick your dog up by 10am, you will not be charged for that last day.

What requirements are there?
You must complete our interview process (either on the phone or in person). Your dog must be non-aggressive and socialized with other dogs, be current on Distemper, Rabies & Bordetella and be spayed or neutered if over 6 months of age.

Dogs InsideWhat should I bring with my dog?
You MUST bring their food in individual Ziploc bags measured out for each meal. You may also bring up to one piece of bedding and one toy.

How much time will my dog spend alone?
Your dog will be in his/her own place for bedtime, from 8pm to 6am. During the day your dog will be in one of our play areas socializing with other dogs and getting lots of TLC from Peanut's Place staff.

Will anyone be there overnight?
No, your dog will be safe and secure in his/her own private place at night. For your peace of mind and the safety of the dogs, we do have sprinklers in case of a fire.
